2017’s Best & Worst States For Singles

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and for those in a relationship that is great. But what about for those who are single?

According to the personal-finance website WalletHub, more than 45 percent of all American adults are currently single. Whether you are single or not, you know how hard it can be to find someone.

If you currently find yourself looking for love, WalletHub is here to help, as they have ranked the best states for singles, with Washington, Colorado and California all topping the list.

Best States For Singles

1. Washington
2. Colorado
3. California
4. Montana
5. South Dakota
6. Texas
7. Hawaii
8. Nevada
9. District of Columbia
10. Florida

While it only came in ninth, the District of Columbia actually has the highest share of single adults. According to WalletHub, almost 70 percent of the people living in the nation’s capital are not in a relationship.

Of course, while there are states that are the best spots to go if  not in a relationship, there are all the states that rank the worst for singles, such as Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas.

43. Tennessee
42. Maryland

When it comes to our area, Pennsylvania came ranked as the 23rd best state for singles, while New Jersey came in at 34 and Delaware at 40.

WalletHub determined their rankings based on 23 key indicators such as share of single adults, movie costs and nightlife options per capita.
