The age-old debate – are the divas now, like Adele and Katy Perry, better than the divas of then, like Aretha Franklin, Cher and Whitney Houston? Well Demi Lovato and James Corden put their singing skills to the test to settle this once and for all.
As James Corden spoke on his late night talk show about how the divas of eras past were more fierce and had more sass than the divas of today, Demi Lovato interrupted to lay down a challenge. With an A Capella group as backup, Lovato challenged Corden to a “Divas Riff-Off.”
The 24-year-old artist and the late night talk show host traded shots as they performed hits such as Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep,” Katy Perry’s “Roar,” Tina Turner’s River Deep, Mountain High” and Aretha Franklin’s “Respect.”
Lovato landed the knockout blow when she performed her own hit “Heart Attack.”
While Corden was ready to admit he was wrong and the divas of today are greater than the divas of the past, Lovato suggested that maybe they are all great.
So what do you think? Which class of divas is better – the divas of then or the divas of now?
