Taylor Swift will be “making an announcement soon” about her new music.
According to E! News, “Taylor has been writing and recording her new album in Nashville for the last several months. She has been working on it around the clock and will be making an announcement soon. She is really excited about her new music and can’t wait to share it with her fans.”
The publication added, “[Swift] has been entirely focused on [her new album] and not much else. She has been 100 percent dedicated to making music the last few months and that’s it.”
Since her last album 1989 debuted back in 2014, Swift has remained relatively quiet when it comes to music. The only new project she has released was her collaboration with former One Direction member Zayn Malik, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever.” The single has already been certified double platinum since its December 2016 release.
While an announcement will reportedly be “coming soon” from the 27-year-old artist, we may already have insight into when Swift will release her next album. In March, her good friend Ed Sheeran told the BBC, “Taylor isn’t going to be releasing until probably the end of the year. Christmas is the smartest time to release because that’s when everyone buys records.”
Swift has already gone against the grain with her upcoming album, as this October will mark the three-year anniversary of 1989‘s release. Throughout her career, Swift has been known to release an album almost exactly two years apart from one another.
Who knows what Swift’s reported announcement will hold, but for the sake of all Swifties out there and music fans in general, let’s hope new music is on its way!
