The Voice is getting bit of a makeover.
Oscar winner and former American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson has signed on for season 13 of The Voice, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Former coach Miley Cyrus is also set to return for her second season in the coach’s chair.
NBC Entertainment alternative and reality group president Paul Telegdy praised the addition of Hudson. “Her exceptional skills as a singer and actress have extended to film, television and Broadway, which makes her an incredible addition and a natural fit for our show,” he said in a statement.
Hudson will join a long line of artists who have served as coaches alongside The Voice originals Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, who will each return to the show for a 13th season. Those artists include Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Alicia Keys, Shakira, Gwen Stefani, Usher and Pharrell Williams.
Season 12 of The Voice is currently in progress with the top eight contestants still remaining.
