Miley Cyrus took to the stage during the season finale of The Voice Tuesday (May 23) and dedicated her performance to her friend Ariana Grande and the victims of Monday’s Manchester attack.
“I’d like to dedicate this song to my good friend, Ariana Grande, and everyone who experienced that horrific attack yesterday. Our hearts are with you,” Cyrus said before she performed her new single “Malibu.”
Cyrus will return to the reality competition show next season (season 13) as a coach alongside The Voice originals Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. She previously served as a coach during the show’s 11th season.
Newcomer Jennifer Hudson will round out the set of four coaches.
Following the attack in Manchester on Monday, Cyrus posted a black-and-white photo of her and Grande on social media.
“Wishing I could give my friend [Ariana Grande] a great big hug right now,” Cyrus captioned it. “So sorry you had to be a part of such a tragic event! My most sincere condolences to anyone and everyone affected by this horrific attack! All I can do is send as much HOPE and PEACE your way! This MUST end! No more war…no more innocent lives taken….L-O-V-E.”
