Katy Perry is embracing her transparent self as of late and now she is calling out awards shows.
In a recent New York Times profile the 32-year-old “Chained To The Rhythm” artist expressed her true feelings on awards shows.
“All the awards shows are fake and all the awards that I’ve won are fake,” Perry said. She called the awards “constructs” that don’t represent the audience.
Throughout the creative process for her new album Witness, Perry underwent an emotional transformation, evolving into the “happiest” version of herself she has ever been.
“It’s a departure, and it’s a necessary evolution that I have to take,” Perry said.
Perry’s transformation is felt throughout Witness as the album provides a different sound for the artist, unlike any her fans have heard before.
